I sat with my head to the ground
I wondered how I fell so far down
My phone rang but I couldn’t hear a sound
It didn’t matter to me who was around
It got cold after the sun went down
She saw me sitting alone on the ground
She came over and sat by my side
Held me close and said everything’s alright
I told her how i failed at my life
And how people like me deserve to die
She said all i needed was to try
And held me closer as i started to cry
If only i could believe what she said was right
That moving on will make everything alright
I have nothin left inside to win the fight
And yet through all this she still stayed by my side
Her confidence that what she said was right
And the compassion she had to listen to my cry
Was the only reason I made it through that night
And I have her to thank for saving my life
