Longing eyes. Curiously watching from behind the clear complication
The sun reflects off the despondent snowflakes. As they float
Like you, down
down
down .
To the sodden floor.
A desperate hand – four forgotten fingers and a forlorn thumb – touches the glass
But nothing. Still.
I will try
As I have done for many poignant years
To make you see this everlasting presence.
Such a painful perfection
You’re the only hope,
That keeps me from curling up,
hibernating,
In this freezing, forsaken Winter.
