Sweet Dreams Little Belle

Contributed by laststarontheleft on Wednesday, 17th March 2010 @ 09:18:54 AM in AEST
Topic: PetPoems

~~ xXx ~~

Fragments of a beauty lost
Now lay scattered 'neath the ground
The broken heart, that played it's part
Was longing to be found

So playful, and gentle natured
Yet you were starving... and all alone
You read my mind through those puppy dog eyes
I must rescue you, take you home

Remembering the time we shared
If only for a while
But for Them, a game, Hold your heads in Shame!
As you sit there in denial

Cuddling into the night, just you and me
On my lap, nuzzling under my chin
And closing your eyes, you dreamt of the skies
Your breathing now wearing thin

A precious part of our loving family
You were warm, and safe from harm
I never shall forget you Belle.....
Nor the night you died, wrapped in my arms

~~ xXx ~~

Beautiful tribute, the love of a pet
not just a pet, but a friend
I read once.
"Until one has loved an animal,
a part of one's soul remains unawakened."

I believe that to be True.

Take care
Fuzzy

oh girl, this is so beautiful and sad. It's nice to see the treasure the Belle was and the joy she brought to your lives. *sigh* there is nothing like the unconditional love of a pet. And your lines speak so eloquently of that beauty. I am nursing a sick kitty cat right now. He is old, so no surprise, but still, it is hard to let them go when they've come to mean so much to us, you know?

Painfully beautiful, dear poet.

Seléne ~

I feel your sorrow, but the unconditional love that is felt is worth the pain when they have to go on, I just lost my gordy and his love was so pure like no man could give. Beautiful write.

Hi Star,

A very moving, affectionate, and fitting tribute to
one of our fellow creatures. This tugs strongly
at the heartstrings.

Well done.

Tommy
