Freedom’s Day

Topic: DarkPoetry

Freedom’s Day

Hidden away in this six by nine cell
How long can you trap me in this Hell?
You believe you are in control, but will soon you will find
You are only in control in your own mind

Beat me, torture me, do with me what you may
My freedom is coming one soon day
You think I am your puppet to parade before every eye
Who are you going to parade when I tell you good-bye?

Break my bones to keep me in this place
You cannot break my will, each day I shove it in your face
You think these metal bars can keep the world at bay
My freedom is coming in one more day

Post the guard and double bolt the door
Today is the day you can control me no more
Today my freedom comes as you good-bye
Do you not understand yet, my freedom comes when I die?

Very dark and very well written. Imprisoned but free from will and strength. I really enjoyed this. Well done.
