I suppose he loved me. . .

Contributed by elle on Saturday, 13th March 2010 @ 10:51:12 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

I suppose he loved me

in the afternoon. . .

in the subterfuge of winter

hypothetical, in my arms of sorrow

restrained

by being. . . I suppose

he loved me

in the aftermath. . .

of seeing ghosts of love & laughter

of wanting & waiting. . .

amount to feeling as if they'd really existed,

did exist. . . somehow. . .

he loved me

I suppose. . .

into commitment

in a sketch-book, he'd made & placed

so lovingly upon my memory, upon my lap

he'd lain his head, softly

& thought this cradled

forever more the love

that he supposed. . .

I loved him

there is a beautiful melancholy inside this that is oddly comforting. The many, many thoughts that riddle our emotion and conscience with the after affects, so eloquently bore a hole through our souls. Are we ever to be the same?

beautiful writing, elle.

Constantly reminded of the past memories of beauty, sorrow and the entire spectrum leaving us with few options to either move forward learning from it all or to consume ourselves with lingering questions. Wisdom and grace fell upon this write.

well written

take care

Much pondering here. Did he? Did she? We can guess but we can never really know what was going on in the other person's mind. We only know what's in our mind.

Does love fade or just it grow weaker. Does it get infected with contempt? Again, more ponderings of the questioning mind.

As always you definitely provoke the thoughts. Smile!

I suppose he loved me.......words that convey never ending pain in unanswered questions of Love. All the memories, wondering what they really meant and what they mean now, the summary is open, just as all the other questions, it could be a declaration or a question. beautiful but very sad.
