Think of You

Contributed by Mars on Saturday, 13th March 2010 @ 09:19:02 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

~

Who's to think of you?
Why should I be sad?
I gave you every chance to take,
And I was almost had.

Why should I be sorry?
Should I not forget?
Those sleepless nights and tearless cries
Are easy to regret.

You have given nothing.
What should I return?
Perhaps a lesson could be had...
A thing or two I've learned.

The damage you've inflicted...
Those scars can never fade.
Service with a smile and
A debt left unpaid.

Scars of love that we wish would fade away yet that wish is never granted leaving us to dwell on matters of the past. I like the imagery used here.

"Service with a smile and
A debt left unpaid'

Well written

take care

"Service with a smile" especially brilliant irony. You've got the right idea here... you're better off without them, but hey "a lesson could be had". Excellent poem.
