Looking back to '89
Everything in our lives was fine
We were trying to make our name
Because all we wanted was fame
We thought we could do no wrong
Start a band and sing some songs
We'd watch the money pour in
And we'd live like kings
But it didn't seem to quite work out that way
In '94 boys had become men
All of us were two times ten
We had grown up fast
And we knew it couldn't last
Dougie married a girl called Beth
Steve and Mick packed their bags and left
Now there was only me and Don
Together we wrote one last song
I guess it didn't turn out all that bad in the end
We wanted to be famous
We wanted a different life from this
But we were young and insecure
Back then we did not know
Just which way our lives would go
Now we don't want to be famous anymore

Interesting write about the goals of success and sometimes being blinded by the so called ease of fame yet the opposite is more common than not. I like the imagery written and it shows a band of brothers decaying over time. Well written.
take care
