Swan Song

Contributed by Fuzzy on Thursday, 11th March 2010 @ 02:21:40 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Little, did you know , as the morn broke, as you
raise , your majestic neck, from under wing
was mid May, cygnets, just left the nest now
they follow, to the waters edge, with your
soul-mate at your side, Regal, proud, you
swim, in early morning sun, cygnets follow
down stream, you turn to see them safe.
soul-mate, Turns to look, Regal Swans
you drift, down stream, cygnets Dream

~Have you heard a Mute Swan Cry~

Then,your love, gathers speed, along
the water, then takes flight, you watch
as he soars above, The distance a
Thunder you hear, Strikes fear in your
Heart, you Turn again, your cygnets
Drift with you, now, so faraway your
soul-mate does fly, Twelve bore shot
him down, Regal bird fell from
the sky, As a Man laughs
took, your soul-mates life an
illegal Kill, just for his Thrill
Your love, soul-mate, carcass
lay dead, upon the ground

~Have you heard a Mute Swan Cry~

Such a sadness within your words that is just magnified by the repeated line, "Have you heard a Mute Swan Cry ". Absolutely devastating to the heart. Your piece is painfully gripping.

Hauntingly magnificent.......
The death of innocence in it's purity is so damned unforgivable in any circumstance.
Really nicely written x
