I hate it because it doesn't mean what it should.
I love you
But I love burritos
I love my parents
I love NCIS
God loves me
And I love base ball
What does it mean
I think we need a new word
Or maybe some new values
Because that amazing feeling I get when I see you
That lighter than air
So happy I could fly away feeling
“love” just doesn’t do it justice.
I can’t say I love you enough to impart what I really mean.
You give me wings and every second I’m with you is better than the last
So I’ll keep saying that I “love” you
But I just wanted you to know what that really meant.

enjoyed this write,i guess, the word love
can never express, that feeling like
flying, just like someone has given
you a drug, not in tablet form, not
in any form, you can express, just
makes you euphoric.
well written really enjoyed this
Take care

Nice one, I liked how you just told it, and it worked well for this poem.

I believe that is the poet in us that strives for a more monumental word to describe emotion. Sometimes a simple word that we've used a hundred times just doesn't sum it up. Poetry is a gift to all those who need a more powerful form of communication than just words. It can also be a curse, however. I was awakened at three in the morning with an idea. An idea that hasn't fully cultivated itself. (And yes, it's driving me mad! Haa). I adore the last line here. THAT speaks volumes!
Great piece!
