Swirling and spiralling snow. A chill breath lies in the wind. A fierce bite that gives a rush of hot blood. Soft as silk and as tough as steel. Creating a world to impose on others.
Daggers of trapped light fall from the stars while the Wintersmith dances to the heartbeat.
Army of protectors fall from the stars. The silverlight spirits imprisoned in form.
Blackeyed and still. They see all. But nobody marks their passing. These silent guardians at the mercy of the young. The innocence creating life and leading to death.
And still the dance beat continues. The steps the change the lives of all. Forces sleep to some and awakens others. Killing, spreading death and breathing life but the beat continues.
But the dance cant continue. It would crack the foundations and bring the music to its knees.
Mountains would tumble and the heartbeat would bleed and stop.
The Wintersmith lies dying. His blood starts the growth and warms the souls.
Scarlet blood seeping into the bland world. Bringing the light back.
On a bed of death the music changes its beat. The players heartbeats change and wait.
The dance of life.
