My sorrow is my own creation

Contributed by Inchiostro on Sunday, 7th March 2010 @ 11:55:51 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

We lay
Our bodies intertwined
Linked by passion
Slick with sweat
My hands run through her hair and down her back
Moving
Moaning
The darkness covering us
Like a warm blanket
Shrouding us
Hiding my shame

Then its over
The moment passed
And passion turns indifference
Love too disgust
My need sated I wish for her to disappear
But she wont
They never do
So pushing her loving hands away I rise
And now alone, in the dark, I sit

But my peace is imperfect
The memories persist
So I search a bottle for the sanctuary I couldn’t find in the arms of a lover
My mind twists and turns but the evil seeps in like a drug
The darkness surrounds me
The hate defines me
Then I realize the nightmare

I have become what I despise
Where once I was righteous
Now I am lost
I slink in the night searching for what shouldn’t be mine
Lies encircle me spinning and swirling
Impenetrable they are my fortress and my cell
None can see through them so none can save me

My mind feels broken and my body bent
All of myself that I once held dear is gone
And this thing that I am is a stranger
Does it mean I’m insane?
If I am a stranger to myself?

I loved the entire write, visual, full of feeling, well written.

The ending solid and powerful. I like!

Have a good night

Michelle

Your poem was flawless. The imagery in it as well as the emotion kept me hooked. Simply powerful.
