Flower

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I watched you on our patio, tending your flowers.
Carefully tilling, raking; taking great care not to disturb
the delicate roots that fed your loved ones.
I noticed you hadn’t so much as
cuffed a leaf in fear of bumping off the drops of dew.

I tried to understand your love; your eagerness
to enter the cold, damp air to share the morning with your flowers.
I knew that any response to your affection was imagined;
the plants would flower regardless of your tenderness
for they have no other choice.

And then it occurred to me,
as I watched from the dry comfort of our warm kitchen,
that my love for you was no less imagined; an invention of my mind
and, your response to my love is whatever I desire it to be.

You’re my flower.

Flowers the eternal muse
this passage was revealing,the metaphors,clever
It's true plants will flower regardless of our affection
yet we can't help adoring and caring for them
even from a distance, as flowers shoudn't be pick
for they only die, as long as we are just admiring
their inspired beauty,with our hearts
all's well and reciprocated,in our minds
full of intellect and skill, flawless write

Hi,

This is an excellent piece of poetry.
A tender lesson to us all - the analogy between
flower and person.

Well said!

Tommy
