As the curtains opened on the year,
With dreary news right from the start,
A little weakened, I felt weighed down,
Yet thriving I swore not to lose heart.
Don't tell me it's impossible,
I'm making it a good year,
It's opened with death and disappointment,
But right now I'm banishing these fears.
Time, you take care of the rest,
No worries, its my time to live,
With hopeful eyes, I'm looking straight ahead,
There's still much love I want to give.
Life, it decorates us with these phases,
And though I ache and tears may stream,
I know that I'm meant for better,
Enough despair, there's still room for dreams.
