I so fear the casket; dark and dank,
Suspended in the mire, below sun-lit greenery,
Assaulted by slimy, creeping and crawling organisms
That inhabit the gloom, ner’ seeing the sun.
I’d lay motionless, trapped in cold darkness,
Thinking only of a failed life with no means of amends.
I would feel my skin drying and cracking, opening to reveal my bones
As my unopened eyes withered and
Fell slowly to the bottom of my skull.
No sounds but for the creatures testing each weakness of the box,
Doggedly pursuing entry, to feast on my wretched remains
Dispatching the last vestiges of my existence.

An instant classic, reminds me of something Poe could have written although it's festering in macabre some how it's serene just the same every one of these fears are top 10 i'm sure, which makes for an even more dreadfully morbid write nicely conveyed

Completely morbid, in a holy-heck-this-is-amazing, kind of way! I have tried to write something of this nature, but it seems to be a very difficult task for me. Your description is flawless. It conjurse emotions that make the skin crawl. Well done.
