In the dark deep depths
In the pond of life,
An unformed larvae lives,
in the murky waters of a torrid past.
Where light, nor sound disturbs,
a shroud of opaqueness,
the unformed larvae gows,
And dreams of a life in colour.
Dreams that seems so surreal,
That the imagination cannot resist,
Living, in the dank cold water,
no reason for hoping.
Each day, like the last,
alone, lost, and submerged,
By others expectations, of how it should be,
distorted images fleet across the mind.
Changes occuring, taking shape,
Hurts healing, small wings appearing,
Growing daily, memories fading,
Rising theatrically, above the silt.
A new day, new beginning,
Spirallying upwards to an increasing light,
Wings taking shape, opening up new horizons,
Emerging to the top, abundantely bright.
Blinking eyes, take in a whole new world,
Unlimited possibilites, uniquely yours,
Spreading wings, breathing again,
euphoria, stepping into the unknown.
Transformed from the darkness,
The dragonfly flies free.
