Isn't life crazy Savanna,
Here we are back at the start,
Me with my wishes and daydreams,
You with a torn,lonesome heart.
How is it this always happens?
What is it wrong that we do?
Isn't life crazy Savanna,
For the likes of me and you.
Isn't it madness Savanna,
This game we are doomed to play,
We finally reach the rainbow,
Just to watch it all fade away,
So close to the prize of contentment,
Due payment for all those long years,
Isn't it madness Savanna,
It's our personal trail of tears.
Isn't life crazy Savanna,
For the likes of me and you
How is it this always happens?
What is it wrong that we do?
Me with my wishes and daydreams,
You with a torn, lonesome heart.
Isn't life crazy Savanna,
Here we are back at the start.

I really enjoyed how personal this poem is and therefore even through adversity there is a warmth and affection about it. |
