Repentance

Lost in my mind,
trapped in my dreams.
With no hope,
of ever to escape.
Fear full of death,
that was yet to come,
I prayed to God,
my soul be his to take.
I knew that I was going to die,
and I began to cry.
I had done so many wrong,
thought only of myself,
which I knew was wrong.
I was lost in the world,
and trapped in my greed.
I cried up to God,
to forgive me.
I repented for my sins,
and forgave my kin.
I wanted to be standing by him,
and to see him face to face.
Then I thought with a frown,
I don’t want to go down.
To the fiery pit,
of the devils realm.
I cried up to God,
Please don’t let me go down.
I cried up to the clouds,
Lord forgive me of my ways.
Then I saw from the clouds,
a grand staircase coming down.
I climbed to the top and saw the pearly gates,
and I knew my soul was his to take.
I forgave my kin,
and relinquished my sin,
then I went up and stood right beside him.
