Changes

Contributed by amartin on Monday, 22nd February 2010 @ 10:31:20 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

You once knew who I was,
But now so much about me has changed.
Its been six years since you had me,
Im not the guy to whom you were engaged.

Three weeks ago I heard from you,
I was scared you would not like the man I have become.
I tried so hard to be everything you remembered,
Instead everything came undone.

I want you to know me for the man that I am,
I must let go of what we once had.
I pretended nothing was different,
Now everything has turned bad.

My friends know me as Country,
Im a redneck at heart.
I love four wheel drives and Nascar,
I love going muddin till my truck falls apart.

Nothing you knew about me is the same today,
I have so much to tell you,
Im sorry I was putting on a cherade.
I only wish that we could start anew.

The person this is to will surly know.
Please forgive me for all I have done.
I want you to know me for who I am,
One simple message would mean a ton.

Here is your message.
YOU WILL BE OK.
We want different things!
We both have grown a lot in 6 years.
But I will always be here if you need a friend.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
