A heart never forgets

Contributed by amartin on Monday, 22nd February 2010 @ 05:12:06 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

From my booth I wached as you came strolling in,
I sat at work one day, not looking for love.
But the moment I say you I had to try,
You were like an angel sent from above.

I began to think you were out of my leauge,
I did not know how to win you,
Then one day out of nowhere you gave me a sign,
By the look on your face my wish was about to come true.

On this couch with you, I try to sleep,
But you are restless, you could not stay still.
I drift away and dream of you,
I wake up with a note on my chest telling me how you feel.

You were finally mine and things were great,
Until that one dreadful day when we were running late.
You were ripped from my side, and I watched as you were take away.
Tears roll down your face, those cops I will always hate.

I come to visit twice a week.
Everytime I see you my heart begins to break.
I could not do it so I finally walked away,
A life with you I never got to make.

For five long years I tried to forget,
Walking away from you was harder than you think.

It is in the past. Everything will be ok. You do not need me to be in your life to be happy.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
