light peaking over a hill
silence surrounding all that is still
sand covering the arid ground
shots in the distance interrupt quiet with sound
i drag my feet in the soft sand
this is where my courage will make its stand
men being shot all over this place
my friend lies on the ground blood covering his face
theres no running not thats to much disgrace
a loud shot ringing through the air
where did it hit do i really care
but panic slowly ensues ive been shot
liquid running down my chest crimson and hot
falling to the ground i made my last stand
but im somewhat comforted by the blood stained sand
everything seems quite silent again
nature feels like it should have been
as darkness consumes my sight
and i am welcomed to the light
