Lost Friend

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I saw you one day at work,
The next you were gone,
Thats how i knew
Something had to be wrong.

I got a call from Randy,
He was crying on the phone
I couldn't understand his words,
But i understood his tone.

I had just seen you earlier,
It just didnt seem fair,
How one minute you were alive
And the next not there.

You shouldn't drink Freddie,
I wish I could tell you that,
But there's no rewinding time,
No more time for chat.

I go to your grave
And sit by it in haste,
And i think of the time we miss,
And how it is a waste.

I think of all the pictures at your funeral,
Smiling, happy and free,
They make my heart bleed,
And tears fall in plea.

Sitting by your grave,
Closing my eyes to see,
Times we had together,
You laughing with me.

The wind blows across my face,
And the ground is so cold,
The air is wintery sweet,
And the leaves crackly and old.

I whisper a wish to you,
Hoping it you find,
And today will be tomorrow,
And I will see you again in time.

I know the feelings. I lost a close male friend 'bout four years back.
I use to call him my guarding angel when he was alive. Now he's always with me. He communicate with his and my hearts.
Another good write even tho it's sad.
good work.
Huggs, blessings,
emy

We probably all have a friend like this. We don't know what we have till it's gone. This is why no one should ever be taken for granted
