Sitting in the corner,
Teddy is my friend,
Watching you be mad,
Again and Again.
What did mommy do?
To make you so mad,
You act like a jerk,
Not like my dad.
Every night you yell,
And scream at us with hate,
Come on daddy, move out
I can hardly wait.
Don't come at me again,
Or I will call the cops on you,
I am tired of being sore,
And black and blue.
Mommy doesn't have the strength,
But i assure you I do,
I am not going to sit here anymore,
And be punched around by you.
I know I am supposed to be quiet,
And not tell a soul,
But it's time i start digging,
And get out of this hell hole.
Teddy is in my arms,
Protecting me tonight,
He'll give me the strength to tell,
And make it alright.

wow this poem hit home hard with me...i was an abused child and let me tell you, you have captured fear and courage together perfectly in this piece.
