He Had Once Been Mine

He is captivating
His eyes soft initially, but if you look hard
They are hardened with sharp shadows of his past.
Flecks of black in brown depths
The ability to lose you in their mysteries.
Hair black and short
Spiking up in odd, messy angles, untamed
The aura of authority.
Ears gaged with black, dime-sized coins
Expression never giving away his thoughts.
Lips secondary to his eyes
Full, but thin enough to give them masculinity.
Black stubble tracing his upper lip
Chocolately eyes holding secrets.
A low, husky voice
Makes your knees weak, perhaps intimidating.
The slight, occasional smile
Without his teeth; without those sharp canines
Merely a little turn upward of the corner of his lips
More of a smirk than anything.
He holds his head high and carries himself confidently
Never once doubting his ability or personality.
Presence calmly saying,
"Take me just as I am, or don't take me at all."
His body strong with lean muscles
Underneath sleek, tanned skin.
Shoulders broad, lithe biceps capable of strength.
Chest well-toned, abdominals pronounced
Evidence of days spent in the gym
Yet also manual labor.
Hands rather large, yet slim
Gold band on his right ring finger.
Rough enough to assume he was no pretty boy
Smooth enough to be soothing to the touch.
All women melt at the sight of him.
Would die to get a glimpse of his shirtless body.
On a hot summer day, gleaming.
All men envy him.
Hold their girls close to avoid losing them when he is near.
He was perfection.
And he had once been mine.
