Displaced Wings

Contributed by jazzyfizzle on Monday, 15th February 2010 @ 06:32:03 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Displaced wings make me less of an angel
A devil in my ways makes me fallen from grace
A fake smile makes my words worthless
Empty emotions make my hugs nothing more than an embrace
The sting from societal rejections lingers
A Charming smile sails me through mental inspections
A slipping grip grasping my reality
Clouded glasses constantly warping my reflections
Who to please? Who to disappoint?
So many vibes turn my third eye blind
When you keep your friends close and your enemies closer
Who do you end up leaving behind?
Eyes closed, sound muted. Sense of touch your only compass
Let the world’s vibrations lead the way.
Overcome by the instability of it all
Pause, breathe. Everything’s okay.
Those who seek the truth are force fed lies
Sprinkled with illusions to help with the taste
What is a lie? Nothing more than contorted facts
Perfectly harmless honesty gone to waste
What am I? Useful? Useless?
Nothing? Everything? Haunted by questions that plague me.
Am I Intelligent? Ignorant?
Are my epiphanies sheer brilliance or maybe just crazy.
Will I ever know? No.
As it seems only time will ever tell
Which road am I to walk on?
If I have only my mind and my soul left to sell?
For I can survive, heartless without my soul
But I cannot truly live with out my mind
But without the sweet bitterness of emotion
Ill be trapped, strapped to logic, eternally confined.

this is a very brilliant peice here. I love it. My two favorate parts are:
"When you keep your friends close and your enemies closer
Who do you end up leaving behind?"
"Those who seek the truth are force fed lies
Sprinkled with illusions to help with the taste"

what wise words you have written here.
thank you so much for posting this.

The ever thinking mind like an endless ticking clock won't stop ticking with all the questions and insecurities of life,I like the declaration of humanity at the beginning displaced wings........fallen from grace, the journey and then the conclusion of endless thinking eternally confined, well written
