A time came when I had to deal
with my remorse, so I could heal;
of feeling choked to the hilt
with all this anger, shame and guilt.
So I sought out remission
from someone who was wise, saying
I only seek forgiveness,
and to apologise.
for all the wrongs I’ve ever wrought,
for all the pain and grief;
I seek your absolution, and
some measure of relief.
Calmed with a gentle hand,
tears wiped from my eyes
I was told:
Never beg forgiveness,
and never apologise.
for no-one is so free of sin
to absolve you of your pain,
and sorry isn’t the answer
—just go, and try again.
So here I am,
on any street,
in homes and shops
across the world;
every car, bus and train
no apologies, just
to live again.

Hi,
Yip - that's all we can do. Make mistakes, learn,
pick yourself up, advance!
Well said, sir!
