God Said No

Contributed by jennguy41 on Friday, 12th February 2010 @ 03:59:12 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

If I could ask one favor of you. . .
Don't take this from me this time.
I know I haven't done all the right things in life
And I have betrayed you so many times
Forgive me for just this once.

She's so scared right now
And that breaks my heart
I can't even imagine the outcome of this.

We are born to love our sisters
For everything she offers us in life
And though we take it for granted
A lesson is learned later.

We watch as our angel is subdued to sickness
That we could not prevent
I shed these tears of innocence
I am breathless behind your eyes
All I can do at this moment
Is love her and tell her it's ok.

And watch with careful glances
Stand by guarding this precious existence
All I ask is that you save her from this pain
Take me instead of her please. . .

I know you've heard this so many times
But it all still holds focus on the severity
Of what is to come...
You cannot take her now
Not on my watch you won't...

Try your best, do all that you deem possible...
Take her away from us...
Witness the flood of misery that shall insue
Stand with us as we gaze upon lifeless eyes...
And bury our everything...

Nothing can stop you from your actions...
Though I swear on all that is holy
I will come for her
I will rip the heavens apart in search of
My star, my guiding light, my all...

None of this will have to happen
As I stand by her bed
Eyes fixated on her stability
We will make it through this madness.

I keep you on the highest pedestal
And forever you shall remain
But if you take her from us now

You take the life from us all...

The warmth is radiating from your words as well as the will to protect her. Loaded with pain but also some powerful lines.

"Though I swear on all that is holy
I will come for her
I will rip the heavens apart in search of
My star, my guiding light, my all...

Well written.

take care

wow. this is a very emotional write. I feel the greif and pain in all this. at first when i saw the title, i wasn't sure if i wanted to read this, but i'm so glad i did. just remember, that though it would hurt so bad for you, if god takes her home, she will be in a much better place..she will never hurt again, no more pain, no more tears, and no more sadness for her...ever.

Nothing can stop you from your actions...
Though I swear on all that is holy
I will come for her
I will rip the heavens apart in search of
My star, my guiding light, my all...
