Tethered.

Topic: SadPoetry

I've cried, all alone for you in the darkest of places
With only blank faces to fill the empty spaces
Devoid of all hope
With the hands of your deception wrapped around my throat like a rope
Tethered to the ceiling
You left me hanging on every word you said until I lost all feeling
The world stood motionless as I swayed from side to side
But you wouldn't take me into your arms
Instead you waited until the strings came untied
And the tears washed away the love from inside
As the angry ocean of my heart ate away at the body of my land
The walls of my existence crumbled away like castles in the sand
Now a silhouette represents the person I used to be
Like the empty cradle of a terminated baby
Your bed will always smell of regret
While your conscious wages war upon your heart to settle the debt
All you'll ever have is the what could have been
Bloody hands and a soul filled with sin
You shattered the innocence with every kiss
I can still taste the hatred you left dripping off my lips
You were like a loaded gun at my fingertips
Just waiting for me to lose control
Empty the clip straight into my soul
Like an angel sent to do me harm
You kept the needle of deception plunged deep within my arm
Too addicted to cut myself free
I hung on every word you said
Until there was nothing left of me...
But a silhouette of the person I used to be.

The emotions conveyed here are brutally raw, honest and the imagery is well done.

I thought the way you used the thought of a silhouette being what you no longer are is very powerful. I just picture a soul without a body, lingering with nowhere to go.

very well written
duff

WOW. That is intense. Your conversion of emotion to imagery to words is absolutely off the charts!! WOW. Now thats poetry!!!
