selfstruggles
|
I buried you deep,
buried you deep;
oh so deep, but
I still can’t sleep
I covered you up
when I buried you deep;
I tamped you down
but the flesh does creep
why don’t you go,
why do you stay?
I push you back
but you won’t go away
the telltale heart,
the treacherous thought;
I tried to hide you but
all for nought
the eyes show it all,
the body reveals;
the lies to the self
will never heal
Oh, I tried to deny you,
forget complete;
but if I did all that,
why can’t I sleep.
