Lost and lonely,
Sitting in a dark solitude,
My heart becoming ice and turning me into a heartless witch,
Yet, strangely I’m content.
By myself,
Yet longing for the touch of another,
My life is dark but the light is shining brighter,
Even if it can’t penetrate the darkness,
Knowing it’s there brings the mistake of hope
A mistake that I shouldn’t make.
Wanting you here beside me,
And to never leave me,
That’s what the mistake would bring.
Never-ending pain would await,
and regret would follow,
You would never stay beside me,
You would never come,
I would be lost to wallow in miserable waiting,
And agonizing pain of wanting you,
And the regret of needing you,
So here I’ll stay in my dark solitude,
Away from the world,
Away from the danger,
I’ll shut out the light of hope,
And never ponder what could have happened if I reached out,
Away from you I’ll stay,
Away from the mistake,
In a dark solitude.
