steady crimson
spotlights throb
in counterpoint
to radio rhythm guitar.
near 4 a.m. on a
night when the humidity
broke
and I saw an unheard
helicopter gliding low on the horizon.
finally, the unhurried
ambulance slid through
the apartment complex, carrying
solemn tragedy, rendering
its siren unnecessary.

This was conveyed very well. Lights breaking the night open with a quiet panic blanketing what went wrong. This was great.
