A BIttersweet Departure

Contributed by xnickix7 on Friday, 5th February 2010 @ 04:44:19 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Through the bars I sit and stare
Confined in this tiny square
This prison got the best of me
My life will end so I forsee
For out escapes a hopeless sigh
I start to cough my throat so dry
I sit my knees pulled to my chest
This is all so hard to digest
When did this all become so hard
To where I am forever scarred
I feel the pressure in my head
Inside it echoes what was said
My time to leave is coming near
It’s too foggy, nothing is clear
I eat what’s left of my last meal
I weep and to the ground I kneel
For what exactly do I pray?
It doesn’t matter what I say
I stand and at the bars I wait
Im hear to seal my final fate
The guards arrive my wrists they take
My final walk I start to make
The needle plunges deep in my vain
Oddly I smile, I like the pain
Sweet poison how I wait to meet
I start to seize strapped in this seat
My eyes roll back my breath now ceased
From all this pain I’m now released

Realy dramatic writing.
Awesome work.
