Stolen Hope

A glimmer of hope, all hinges on this--
The beauty of true love's stolen kiss.
If I promised you once more, would you believe me today
If I swore to fly you so far away?
I will tell the world--scream myself hoarse
That you will always, always be my only girl.
Pretty and perfect, you save my life;
Your thought alone gets me through the nights.
The truth still hurts, but I must tell you
This hated lie still must continue.
I will have no more blood on my hands--
Not that of "innocent friends."
So please forgive me as I beg you today
To just come with me when I fly away.
