Lights that dim

We’ll dim the lights down low
With candles and incents
Homemade electricity
Left with our shadows and thoughts
As our favorite vinyl
Spins a soft silhouette
Sitting in our room
We take a puff of life
As our bodies go numb
In a sea of calculated noise
Some people find Jesus
We found poets instead
Loneliness just a song away from cured
Years of dust collect in our ears
Caressing, touching, and making love
What is dead is folded alive in smoldering ashtrays
Listless smoke blown away
All we can do is listen
