Play on, jazzman.
You that has fallen under night's darkest shadow,
That no home will take or no love will claim.
Too short, too quiet, too smooth on the sax.
Now, the flicker of the street lamp as your witness,
You solo your way through every coin falling in your case.
They set you up to stop, but for us Men
We have no other way.
So why not the unknowing road played soulfully by our brother,
Right now, our only hope.
So here I say, Play on jazzman. Play on.
