Time swells around like the hum of a thousand insects.
Slow but earsplitting whine.
Nails on a chalkboard.
Gritting of teeth.
The air is electric and heavy.
You cannot hold it.
You must fight it,
Fight the urge to rip the atmosphere to tatters.
The day is a long drive alone with no radio.
Knowing of impending traffic jams.
The day is knowing what needs to be said.
With no one to say it to but yourself.
