The look in our eyes said it all
All the things we could not say
I gave her a kiss
Not a real one but the chocolate
She said it was sweet
I wanted a taste but practiced restraint
We made love with our conversations
Touched our bodies with words
An invisible barrier separated us
As we sat awkward
Not sure how to proceed
The TV was background music
We tried to ignore
Every second I longed
To wipe the mascara from her face
Our small talk dangled
We liked the silence best
Just one look, one touch, and...
Then it was time to leave

Interesting write.Loved the way you built it up into something..............it didn't turn out to be.
Clever idea, one of those poems I'm sure I will remember for a while.
