American Soldier

American Soldier

I am an American soldier
Fighting for rights all deserve
I believe in principles and moral foundation
Others dignity I preserve

Tho the enemy surrounds me
Protests tear me apart
I will complete my mission
For I ‘m a warrior steadfast of heart

It burns with the flame of freedom
Never will it surrender or flee
Fighting and dying for friend and brother
Should that be required of me

View me not as a killer
Perceive me not as a foe
Just a simple soldier
Who detests war and woe

But tonight I stand on guard
With rifle in hand
To protect and defend the principles
On which all Americans stand

Russ
