Silent Good-Byes

Silent Good-Byes

You entered my world at a particular time
Does not matter if the choice was yours or mine
If you spend minutes, days, months or years
I hope you enjoyed the time that you were near

Though our paths crossed, as friends we may not always stay
When the time comes to part, there is something you should say
Does not matter if you write it in a note, sing it or write it in the sky
Please have the courage to at least tell me Good-Bye

Silent Good-Byes cut directly through the heart and soul
Though not always intended as such, they are quite cruel
I would rather have you make up some lie as to why you wish not to stay
Than to leave behind a Silent Good-Bye as you disappear one day

Truly deeply moving
there is so much compassion
I can't say I have ever pondered this notion
when written so passionatly and sincerley
the message is so potently clear
an astounding heart warming and humbling passage

Bless You

I can relate to this as I always seem to be left behind by somebody. I hate goodbyes, spoken or silent. This is an excellent poem!

I have to agree with everyone here. I dont like good byes whether they are spoke or silent. Thats probably the reason why I try not to say good bye unless I know that I may never see that person again in my life. Truely an amazing write my friend.
