Leave the Pieces

selfstruggles

The shattered remains of a broken soul
Every second collects more hate
Cut me down so I'm no longer whole
I pity the fools who believe in fate.
Shall I rip out my heart to show you?
Perhaps the blood will make you understand
You should appreciate your life more
Before it slips through your fingers like sand...
The tears I cry are not of sadness
Nor pain, jealousy, or regret
But I cry in disgust of who I've become
I am someone I wish I'd never met.
Your smile is sickeningly sweet
But your eyes reflect your distain
Stormclouds wait in the shadows
And once you leave, they will rain.
You kiss my cheek in farewell
Revulsion dripping from your lips
You turn, and like a clawed hand
At my inner soul, your loss rips.
Now my loneliness leads me into darkness
Life seems just like suicide to me
The intriuge lures me in further
I need someone to pull me back, please.
There is shattered glass all around me
But I do not try to pick it up
I have learned a valuable lesson
And to save me, it could be enough...
It is better to leave the pieces
Lying there on the floor
Than to try to pick them up;
You could cut yourself even more.
