Deep in the dark abyss,
Some call it a heart,
There is a war raging on.
Trying to tear apart,
What is scarcely holding together.
This war has been going on for years.
Countless times this or others' have been broken.
Some have cried, some grown cold,
Still others have all but disappeared.
Mine is holding by a thread of muscle.
Believing things will one day settle down.
That this battle will end
And an agreement will be reached.
And there will be peace, inside.
But until that day,
I hope my heart can hold on.
It's worth it.
Maybe even help another with their internal battle.
But actually help this time.
Not break it more and ravage the depths.
That seems to be the way,
Of a warring heart.
Bringing destruction everywhere it goes.
Starting battles, that didn't exist
Or were almost over, all over again.
So, rest now, dear heart.
A great battle is coming soon
And you will need your strength
To finally end this feud.
In your deep, dark abyss.
