~Mama I'm Sorry~

Contributed by sammi23 on Tuesday, 26th January 2010 @ 01:27:42 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

Where are you, now that I'm here?
standing alone all I know are tears
I wanted to be there this thing is true
but I couldn't make it, now what do I do?

The last time we spoke not so long ago
you knew that I loved you cause I told you so
You said you'ld meet me at heavens wide gate
till my time came you'ld stand there and wait

I remember I cried, for in my heart I knew
it wouldn't be long that God would call you
and I wondered then as I wonder now
will the loss get better, and if so how?

At my age now it's so strange to say
I feel I'm an orphan, it won't go away
I wander my life the best I can do
but I cry daily cause I don't have you

I pray you'll forgive me that I wasn't there
I'll live with the heartache, mom truly I cared
maybe someday I'll see you as you stand by that gate
whisper a prayer; as for me you do wait.

This was a very touching poem about true feelings about death, so well put I could feel your pain and all your sorrow and the regret,of not being there, beautiful. well written. has alot of heart in it. good job.

So much guilt surrounding loss as you have expressed so well in your poem and yet the person who has gone would not want you to live with that hope you find some peace.
