what happened?

You were so close to me.
I loved you, or at least I thought I did.
I would dream of us being together one day.
You were my everything.

You knew all about me.
My fears, my hopes, and my dreams.
So what changed?

Insecurities grew.
Peer pressure led to mistakes.
You believed what they said.

Now you are gone.
Not physically like most would think,
but emotionally as if you're not even here.

i miss you so much,
but not because you left,
but because the person I thought you were disappeared.
