Heart In A Box

Heart in A box

Tears I cry ,
Are tears of pain
They’re all to hide my gilt and shame.

I ask him if he was cheating?,
I saw the answer in his eyes,
My heart just stop beating .
I fell to my knees and just died

I swore I would never love or
Be so naive or clueless again.

I locked my heart away deep inside,
In a stainless still box
Far away from prying eyes.

Now it lays still ever beating,
Close my eyes & listen
I bet you can still hear it weeping .

Its waiting for a man with a Key,
Unlock the box and set it free.

The moment I heard him say my name,
I prayed dear lord,
Please make this real
Not just another game.

The sound of his voice ,
Sends me shaking .
My heart beats so fast ,
Its almost like love making.

The box that held my heart,
Is now broken in pieces and fallen apart.

I dare to feel, to love one more time
To give yourself unselfishly ,
That’s not a crime.

He said ,
He loves me , cant stand to be without me,
Promises of a new life
Far across the open sea.

To another land ,
Where kangaroos hop and a island of sand.
Now he holds a diamond, a ring of gold,
A wedding band

His promise was to always be true,
To never love another .
No more tears and never will I be blue.

Now the tears I cry,
Aren’t tears of pain
No longer do I hide and gilt or shame.

Heart break is a jaring experience
there is nothing more debilitating then betrayal
but the will to soilder on yields a far greater future
I enjoyed this passage because it was brave and truthful
