Eternal Regret

Lost in a sea of eternal regret,
forging a life that I’m soon to forget.
Moving through seas of motion and pain,
finding no answers I reach for the gate.
Getting nowhere from somewhere I’ve been,
It shows in the motions and actions I’ve taken.
Lost and alone still a boy, not a man,
someone so lost its hard to fathom.
Prayer was a waste it has shown me a path,
I’ve followed it gladly to forget the past.
It’s helped for a while has helped me to grow,
but back there and then the seed was sown.
Running away was the best thing to do,
fix yourselves problems, it’s all on you.
The road ahead, will twist and will turn,
lost in the middle it’s hard to return.
Just want to go back, fix what I’ve done.
erase all that’s happened the thing I’ve become.
Let me forget what was made way back then,
move on to the present how long has it been.
Looking back to remember the happiness there,
I truly can’t find it, just pain and regret.
You now might get it the reason I write,
feeling sorry for doing stupid things in my life.
Things that will never be forgiven of me,
hiding behind a curtain a sheet of dreams.
I wish I could do it forget what was done,
it hurts that deep down that I want to return.
My life would be taken away pretty quick,
if I owned up to anything that it hurts to remit.
So here is the problem it’s hard to receive,
but my life is a lie to you and to me.
To go back right now would destroy what I’ve made,
once broken its fragments will never remain.
It will be nothing, not a thing just the now,
gone forever never to be found.
So hiding I’ll keep them the secrets I’ve kept,
live the lie I’ve been living to never forget.
Hating myself for what I have done,
I’ll never get over the memories the pain they bring on.
Such ugliness lies beneath what you see,
leaving their marks indistinctive and mean.
Don’t forget the future because you’re sure to forget,
that nothing can change the things I regret.
Remember my words hopefully one day you’ll see,
that nothing is ever clear to be seen.
If one day you see me passing you by,
you’ll never be able to tell it’s a lie.
Because I’m hidden away from the truth,
watch out for me, I might be the guy in the suit.
Just passing you by on the street of your town,
never betraying the person I’ve found.
So I’ll keep building it up this lie,
just to prove that sometimes the light loses sight.
Hopefully something will help me to see,
I want a way out for you and for me.
Something that leaves me at where I am now,
but helps fix the problems I need to renounce.
One day I hope that I’ll find the path,
straighter than ever and where it’s the best.
Well, for now I’ll stay where i've has been,
hiding and sneaking behind this mask.
