I said I wrote a poem about you
You did her reply
I lied
But then it's true
The beauty of earth
Everything that surrounds
Just look around
Take a breath
Cheryl
The misty rain
What a girl
Her hair so full of curl
I had just met her this night
Out on the walk way
At the end of a perfect day
A wonder I didn't fill her with fright
An old man such as me
Speaking to the young lass
Beautiful is what I see
Am I but a snake in the grass
I love the curls of your hair
Thank you I've been a little down
Soft as a peach her skin so fair
God given her beauty abound
Two years ago that misty night
Cheryl her name is all I know
Inside the arena a hockey fight
I see her often now such a beautiful sight
Cheryl the beauty of earth speaks of you
At seventy do I appreciate
Certainly I speak to you true
Younger and single I'd ask a date.
