Reaching For A Ghost.

Contributed by bleedthelove on Friday, 22nd January 2010 @ 12:48:55 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

A million miles of ocean have surrounded you
But you can float forever on my last breath of air
Like the final chapter in our tragic love affair
I always knew I'd die without you
Reaching out for your hand
Only to realize you would never reach back
Still I could never walk away
I could never stop trying
Even if it shattered the world around me
Nothing could shake the foundation of eternity
And like Romeo to Juliet
I looked at you through eyes so wet
But even amidst my suffering you were beautiful
I learned to find divinity inside our tragedy
It only clarified even more how deep my love for you truly was
And as the days and nights came and past
I saw you reach out your hand at last
But you weren't reaching for me
Once again I was left clinging to a ghost of cold air
The only hand I ever held was that of despair
All alone I stood, suffering the pain and embracing the loss
Still ready and willing to bare your cross
Hanging by my fractured wings as the love came bleeding through
How could I ever forget what I always knew
That I'd love you for a thousand lifetimes...
Only to die without you.
