Is That Where You Are

Contributed by MoonlightKiss on Wednesday, 20th January 2010 @ 10:35:15 AM in AEST
Topic: Grief

She feels his touch in every raindrop on her skin
The sun kisses the earth and she feels him from within
A soft breeze embraces her like his strong arms
She is with him until it is ruined by the dawn.

Get up lazily and try to face another day
Without him around, she doesn't want to stay
She hears his voice in every rustle of the trees
An image of them she desperately tries to seize.

She feels the connection when she looks to the stars
She whispers softly, "Baby, is that where you are?"
Without an answer she is left to go to bed
But without sleep; too many thoughts in her head.

She feels his touch in every flower petal on her skin
The moon kisses the ground; she loves him from within
A soft whisper holds her as she falls fast asleep
And in her heart, it's him she will always keep.

I sit on my bed, looking at pictures of him
His face is so bright, yet mine is so dim
I miss him so much; he's within me; he's like a scar
Stars aren't too far; I think that is where you are.

I love this poem.
I can feel the emotion emanating from it.
Very well done and very relatable.
