From Hounslow across to Heathrow
Runs the number 49
The driver sat behind the wheel....
Phwoar! He is so divine!
The first time that I saw him
He gave a little wink
My heart went all a flutter
And my face a reddish pink!
So the next day, at the bus stop
I stood and waited for my stud...
But he drove straight past and ran a puddle....
Covering me in mud!
"Oh flippin' 'ell!" I shouted out
"I'll get you, you wait and see!"
Then his hand waved out the window
As his bus began to flee!
The cheeky little bleeder!
His sense of humour, so naughty but nice
And for many weeks thereafter....
I only paid the bus fare twice!
But here the story doesn't end
Cos we deeply fell in love...
My lucky number 49
The routemaster sent from up above!

What a delightfully lighthearted relief
from an old beaten path
The chemistry between the two subjects
was admirable and sweet
a fine short story,captured the imagination
in depth and with compassion

I don't know if I would go that far for a free ride - most bus drivers are pretty horrible to look at, but good luck to you!
