For cheap grace endeavours
She mailed sixteen diplomas
Each etched with silver crayons
To match my father's cufflinks
But not his errant child
With anxious Yuletide greetings
I whispered partial insights
Each mocked by Julie's texts
All coated in upbeat rhymes
But not her bedcome eyes
From cool shades sanctury
I barked liberal sentiments
Each diluted with gray secrets
Of my cousin's army legacy
But not his mother's bitterness
In spider web contortions
We tasted fresh degradations
Each avoided by Desert Fathers
To ease those seeping wounds
But not dark tunnel's end
On slow train journeys
He clenched bruised fists
Each protecting incest tales
For sake of unborn martyrs
But not today's new undead
