A place to go

Does your island complicate your life?
Making your mind drift with the sea
Wondering aimless upon the waves
Sinking with the ocean, crashing with the shore
Knowing that there is only a place to go
Somewhere off in the vast horizon
Where Romeo’s flowers buzz with Juliet’s bees
Where your heart is a compass
Just directions in blood flow
Beating of a place to go
For time is a distance
In the space of things
Pulling us forward and backward
Lost in the now, found in the was
Without a place to go
Forces unknown can be such a drag
Sending us in crevices, trapped behind doors
We crumble, we break, we lose, and we ache
We stumble ahead with what we create
All the while finding a new place to go
